August 31, 2007

bbc-podcast.jpg

Hi everyone, I hope your week has gone great and that you are looking forward to a fantastic weekend :-)

As promised to all my students – here is the link to BBC’s learn English podcast. It’s only a few minutes long and is a great way to learn and listen to English. Click here to listen

Also, check out this blog entry about using charts and graphs in presentations. – Very useful if you use a lot of data when giving your presentations. Remember, this is written by an American and so it can help you to understand what Americans want. Click here

Well that’s it for now. Talk to you all later

Just wanted to give you guys a link to the CNN Boardroom website.

This website gives you interviews with leading CEO’s and executives from around the world via video and you should be able to find a transcript for each interview.

Each interview is only 3 or 4 minutes long and is a great way for you to practice your listening and comprehension skills AND at the same time learn English … A “win win” if I ever knew one ^^

It’s Good To Be Back

August 22, 2007

Hi everyone, I’m back in Korea and back at work ^^

Just wanted to update you on the latest news and to give you some more interesting tips and trick for business English.

The first comes from a website “Pecha Kucha Nights” – Pecha Kucha is a japanese word meaning “The sound of language” – basically the rules for giving a presentation to this organisation is that you have 20 slides and you are allowed 20 seconds per slide. – This is a great way for keeping your presentations short, powerful AND interesting…. be warned … we might be introducing this style as homework soon :-) to check out their site in Korean you can go here

Don’t forget if you have any questions, queries or documents to have checked, please send them to our unique First Class Business email address – firstclassbusiness@mac.com

Have a great day and talk to you all again soon
