Comparatives and Jeremy Clarkson

July 30, 2007

This morning in my First Class Business class we were discussing comparatives. And for all of you who are in the Economy class you will remember that in the comparatives part, the book uses 2 American cars.

The attached video is a video of a famous BBC TV presenter comparing 3 4×4 cars. Jeremy Clarkson is very good at comparing.

And for all you American Idol fans, here is another video you can see of Jeremy Clarkson interviewing Simon Cowell. VERY funny :-)

Dynamic Presentations

July 17, 2007

As many of you already know, I have been preparing a presentation on how to give ‘dynamic presentations’. Over at TED.com (website I frequently mention as a fantastic resource for business material) there is a fantastic blog concerning one of the best business presentations of modern times.You can view the article HERE

This is a must read for anyone who has to give presentations -With this advice you will never go wrong.

A summary of the advice goes something like this ….

1) Build up the presentation to something unexpected;

2) Stick to one theme per slide, and make them visually attractive;

3) Vary the speed and tone at which you speak to electrify the audience;

4) Three things are absolutely key: rehearse, rehearse, rehearse.

5) If you’re passionate about the idea or the product, show it.

For more on business communication you can visit Carmine Gallo’s website HERE
